My Giant Russian Nesting Dolls Display

A couple months ago I was invited to design several Russian nesting dolls for a large display at Tai Po Mega Mall in Hong Kong. With the 2018 World Cup taking place in Russia, the client asked me to create 4 soccer players in the shape of Russian nesting dolls for a Soccer Fever display, which they then transformed into 3-D life-sized dolls! Above and below you can see the dolls, which stand 6 feet tall!
In addition to the 4 soccer players, they also turned 2 of my matryoshka designs into real-life dolls that stand 5 feet tall!
If you're familiar with my Folk Art Coloring Book, you'll recognize the Russian nesting doll above on the left, hee hee. 😊 They also asked me to design a second doll using the same patterns but with different colors, which you can see above right and below.
It's incredibly cool to see my 2-dimensional drawings turned into actual 3-D dolls. I'm amazed at how well they transferred my designs onto these huge surfaces!
All 6 dolls are decorated with my designs on every side, as you can see in this image:
I wish I could see these dolls in person, but I'm grateful that they've sent me so many awesome pics so it feels like I'm there!
My Russian dolls are part of a large installation at Tai Po Mega Mall, with a stage and large TV screen on one end and an interactive digital game on the other end. On the large screen they air World Cup matches and on the playing field they host games and competitions for kids.

Working on this project has been a fun experience. Since I normally create 2-D art, it's exciting to see how my art looks in a 3-D format.
