About the print:
This is a professionally printed giclee produced from one of my drawings. The print is made with UV pigmented inks that are
lightfast and durable, rated to last 150-200 years. The artwork is printed on white, fine art 210 g/m2 matte watercolor paper by
Hahnemuhle . The paper is acid-free with 50% rag. It has a natural white finish with a slightly-structured soft-textured surface.
There is a 1" border around all four edges of the artwork, allowing for easy matting and framing.
About the artwork:
In the fall of 1999 I spent time in
India, visiting the clay and mud homes of various
tribal families. Inside their beautifully decorated
homes, they would unfurl dozens of intricately embroidered
handicraft tapestries, which weremesmerizing and dazzling
due to their colors, patterns, textures, and painstaking
detail. My abstract paintings are deeply inspired
by the work of these tribal Indian artists. Through
the frenetic juxtaposition and overlap of colors and
patterns, I create a sense of energy and exuberance
on the canvas that exudes an aura of exotic festivity.
