About the print:
This is a professionally printed giclee produced from one of my drawings. The print is made with UV pigmented inks that are
lightfast and durable, rated to last 150-200 years. The artwork is printed on white, fine art 210 g/m2 matte watercolor paper by
Hahnemuhle . The paper is acid-free with 50% rag. It has a natural white finish with a slightly-structured soft-textured surface.
There is a 1" border around all four edges of the artwork, allowing for easy matting and framing.
About the artwork:
This
funky abstract painting is full of colors and designs
that cause the eye to bounce around the canvas in
a visual feast. This painting is inspired by my keen
interest in the folk arts of Mexico and India, particularly
in the intensity of their color palettes and their
detailed patterns. The colors for this piece were
chosen in an endeavor to manifest a zingy and harmonious
spiritual fire. The surface of this painting is tactilely
tantalizing, having been covered in a special blend
of modeling paste and ceramic stucco medium. This
lends the piece a unique surface in which I was able
to carve lines and spirals to add an appealing sense
of dimension. Through the use of bright colors and
patterns, this painting emits a strong feeling of
joy, festivity, and celebration.
