I was
attracted to this image because of the unique perspective
and sense of vast distance between the foreground and the
background. It is a nature scene lacking in people, but the
evidence of human contact with the land is the strongest feature.
This painting was done after a reference photo used with permission
by a fellow artist. I chose it because not only is it a peaceful
and serene image of a pastoral lifestyle, but also because
it vividly reminded me of many of the beautiful places that
I saw during my travels in England and France.
