This painting
shows a Tibetan Buddhist monk performing a puja, or religious
ceremony, in front of the towering Mt. Kailash, which is a holy
mountain in Tibet. The monk is surrounded by over-sized butterlamps
as prayer flags sway in the distance. A huge dharma wheel is
superimposed over the entire scene.
This painting
has been shown at the Contemporary Art Museum in Tampa and the
Montpelier Center for the Arts in Virginia.
