This highly detailed abstract painting writhes with color and joyous emotion. The underlying forms were created in a stream-of-consciousness manner, allowing the subconscious mind to emerge and take control. Various patterns and dots of multiple colors accentuate the flow and festivity of the piece. This painting was inspired by my appreciation of tribal artforms, particularly by the embroidered textiles I encountered during my visit to the Rajasthani region of India a few years ago. My abstract paintings are very process-oriented and carry a spiritual meaning related to the mystery of existence and a reverence for the unfolding process of life. The painting wraps around to all four edges of the canvas, making this truly a 3-D work of art.
